Table Mountain National Park: Update on Visitor Verification and Indemnity Processes

Effective 10 February 2026

Visitor verification processes will be implemented at selected high-volume access points at Table Mountain National Park.

Digital ID scanning will be used at the Cape Point (Cape of Good Hope) and Boulders Penguin Colony entrances to enable accurate tariff application where locally discounted rates apply.

Furthermore, indemnity forms will no longer be required for general day visitors entering the Cape of Good Hope section or Boulders Penguin Colony.

Indemnity forms will continue to apply only at designated picnic and braai facilities, namely Newlands Forest, Oudekraal, Silvermine, and Tokai Picnic & Braai Site. This does not apply to open-access areas, Wild Card holders, or Activity Permit holders.

All personal information is managed in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

SANParks appreciates the cooperation of visitors and stakeholders as these processes are implemented.
