Table Mountain National Park: Fire update
Latest update – 12 January 2017: The trails in the Red Hill area remain closed to all recreational users. There is still an active fire line in the area. The trails will remain closed until they have all been assessed and declared safe, upon which repair work will be carried out and trail signage replaced.
11 Jauary 2017: The Red Hill Road in Simon's Town is closed due to the fire. Please be aware that there is a thick band of smoke hanging over Simon's Town. Visitors to Cape Point and Simon's Town are asked to exercise caution when moving through the area.
Warning: Please do not enter any trails in the area between Ocean View to the top of Red Hill as there is a fire raging in the area. Fire crews have been deployed to said area to extinguish the blaze. There is thick smoke hanging over the area and all recreational users are requested not to enter the immediate and surrounding areas.
