SANParks Says Article About an Arrest of 15 Poachers in KNP is Fake News

An article circulating on social media titled “Kruger National Park Bust: 15 Arrested with Ivory & Rhino Horns” is fake news, no such arrest took place in the Kruger National Parks, SANParks said in a statement.

SANParks wishes to categorically state that the article is misleading and inaccurate.

The information contained in the article does not reflect verified facts, nor does it align with any confirmed law-enforcement operations currently undertaken or supported by SANParks in the Kruger National Park.

The publication creates a false impression and misrepresents conservation and anti-poaching efforts.

SANParks cautions the public against sharing unverified information, as misleading reports undermine conservation work, create unnecessary alarm, and erode public trust.

The spread of false or exaggerated claims can also compromise ongoing security operations and the safety of personnel, animals, and integrity of the park.

SANParks remains committed to transparent communication and will always provide accurate, verified information through its official platforms and media statements.

Members of the public are encouraged to rely on credible sources and SANParks’ official channels for factual updates.
