Mopani is a modern camp with a well-developed infrastructure, including a swimming pool, ladies bar and lookout platform. Game drives (day and night), walks in the bush accompanied by armed guides and bush braais are some of the activities the camp has to offer. Several very interesting new dirt loops between the tarred road and the Tsendze river have just been opened to the public. These loops offer enchanting views over the river and are ideal for late afternoon drives in closer vicinity to the camp.
Construction of the Pioneer dam game/bird viewing hide has been completed and this will be opened to the public before the end of November. Several water holes have also been opened, as well as two additional windmills with drinking points which were previously inaccessible to the public. Another first is an access track to Uitspan pan, a beautiful natural depression that fills with water during the wet season.
For people wanting to explore traditional tribal African culture, visitors are able to book a cultural tour to Shilowa. Or visit experimental burning blocks in the company of trained field guides who will explain the relevant conservation and ecological processes.
From R1 740 per person sharing you can now fly to Kruger with SA Airlink and spend two nights experiencing wildlife on your doorstep in the Mopani Rest Camp.
