There have been several articles written in the media regarding the eclipse, the fully booked accommodation in the Kruger National Park and the pre-selling of units in the totality area to foreign scientific “scientific interest groups”.
SANParks is also aware of the dissatisfaction expressed by members of the public regarding their unsuccessful attempts to book prime spots in the camps for that day. It is the CEO”s aim to clarify all these issues at the press conference, and also to inform the media and the South African public, on measures that are being put in place to make sure that more people can access the park on the day of the eclipse.
