Media Release: Mapungubwe to host first Transfrontier Wildrun
The Wildrun is a 92km, 3 day trail running safari experience through the culturally significant and wildlife rich bushveld of the Greater Mapungubwe Transfrontier Conservation Area. The event is scheduled to start on Friday, 13 May and end on Sunday, 15 May and will take participants on about 30km a day.
“We are elated to join other Parks that have done these Transfrontier events, and although this year is an invitational event, we are hoping that it will grow in leaps and bounds in the coming years” said Conrad Strauss, Park Manager of Mapungubwe who also added that the Park has for years been hosting the annual Tour de Tuli international cycling event, which also takes a similar approach.
The athletes are expected to arrive at Mapungubwe”s confluence in the afternoon on Sunday the 15th May 2016
