As part of SANParks National Parks Week, the Executive Director of the Kruger National Park, Dr Bandile Mkhize opened a wooden boardwalk at the Skukuza Nursery today (Tuesday September 19, 2006).
“Our main contribution to the inaugural National Parks Week will be the launch of this boardwalk facility and, for years to come, it will be remembered that one of the most significant events of this countrywide initiative took place here at the Skukuza Nursery,” said Dr Mkhize in his keynote address.
To blend in with its surroundings, the boardwalk has been built with treated saligna poles and has been designed by the KNP”s Technical Services Department using the environmental best practice of “touching the earth lightly”.
