Media Release: Crocodile Bridge entrance gate open again
Crocodile Bridge Entrance Gate to the Kruger National Park (KNP) is open for all traffic again after it was closed for more than a week due to the rising level of the Crocodile River.
The flow of the Crocodile River has subsided and has allowed KNP officials to clear the low water bridge of all debris so that vehicles can access this KNP entrance gate again.
However the situation will be closely monitored and, if the level of the Crocodile River rises again, KNP will be forced to close this entrance gate. The public shall be notified accordingly.
“We apologise to our guests for the inconvenience of being diverted to Malelane Entrance Gate during the last 10 days but assure visitors to the KNP that this was done for their own safety as there was a real danger that vehicles could have been washed off the bridge into the river,” said Mr William Mabasa, the KNP’s HOD: Public Relations and Communication.
Crocodile Bridge Entrance Gate is one of 10 entrances into the Kruger National Park and is situated in the extreme south.
