Kruger Staff Scoop All The Trophies In The Bohlabela District Driver Competition…

It was in June 2006, when a young ambitious man arrived in Kruger and within a short space of time; he had transformed the KNP”s Bus and Truck Drivers into confident champions who walk with their heads high.

This is how Billy Mokwana, the KNP Transport Depot Assistant just did when he encouraged his colleagues to enter the Bohlabela District Annual Driver Competition Year Awards for the first time. Little did Billy know that his faith and confidence in his colleagues would lead to an historic event…

It was a night to remember as staff members from Kruger National Park”s Transport Depot stole the show by winning prizes in seven (7) out of (9) categories in the competition that was held on Saturday, 12 August 2006 at Thulamahashe Limpopo Government Traffic Testing Station.

The drivers scooped most of the trophies including the overall Best Driver of the year in Bohlabela District. The Department of Roads and Transport in Limpopo started this brilliant initiative six years ago as part of the Arrive Alive driving campaign. To participate in the competition, nominees had to have a driver”s licence; public drivers permit (PDP) and the love of driving. The KNP Drivers won the following categories:
