The campaign day (International Rangers Day) is observed annually to remember rangers killed or injured in the line of duty and also celebrates the work rangers undertake to protect nature.
Rangers in the GRNP (including those from Knysna, Tsitsikamma and Wilderness) will meet in the Wilderness section of the GRNP on Friday, 1 August 2014. Their day begins with a demonstration thanks to a partnership between the rangers from the Wilderness Section, the Game Rangers Association of Africa and the Survival Training of SA.
“The day will end with a favourite treat for all a tug-of-war competition among the three sections of the Park” laughs Govender.
