Christmas Carols at WCNP

The West Coast National Park”s Honorary Rangers presented a Christmas celebration late last year on 16 December in the wedding marquee at Geelbek. “Christmas Carols On The Lawn” commenced at 17h30 and all the locals who joined the West Coast Honorary Rangers for this picnic celebration were allowed into the park free of charge from 16h30 with their picnic baskets and blankets.

The Methodist Church choir and the VGK”s Children”s Brass Band, both from Langebaan, led the participants in beautiful renditions of all the old favourite carols. The Geelbek Restaurant”s Elmarie Leonard and her catering team surprised us with an impromptu rendition of Silent Night, which broke the ice and set the stage for a very pleasant and atmospheric evening.

The HR”s have over the years been introducing various activities to involve the local community with our park and Christmas seemed the ideal time to invite everyone to come relax and enjoy this most beautiful part of the world with us.

The HR”s will be growing this event over the next few years as one of our yearly activities and we welcome participation from all local churches and groups alike who would like to join us.

The West Coast Honorary Rangers wish everyone a belated happy Christmas and a wonderful 2008.
