Research Focus and Interest
I joined SANParks in 2008 after 14 years’ experience with Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife, most of which was in vegetation monitoring, various game census techniques, game capture and translocation programmes and at the research-management interface.
My particular interest is in monitoring programmes relating to large mammal population performance, thus the keen interest in various game census techniques and associated vegetation monitoring.
My work focus is to provide a dedicated science-management link in order to enhance the service that scientific services can provide to park management through facilitating a common understanding and approach to meeting the conservation mandate of SANParks.
