Significant contribution to Veterinary Science rewarded
The significant contributions to the field of veterinary science and comparative medicine have been recognized by the scientific community through invitations to VWS staff to present at international conferences. Dr. Buss was invited to the 2022 37th World Veterinary Association Congress, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates to present research on “The cardiorespiratory effects of etorphine and azaperone in the chemical capture of white rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum) and mitigation of adverse effects using butorphanol” and “Rhinoceros conservation in Kruger National Park, South Africa – a veterinary perspective”. In addition, Dr. Buss was honoured with the Best Research Award in October 2021 by the South African Veterinary Association.

Dr Peter Buss received the South African Veterinary Association (SAVA) Award for Best Research in October 2021.
