Spekboom Tented Rest Camp

Spend a night in the middle of the main game viewing area, immersed in the sights, sounds and smells of the wild all around you.

Staying over in one of the camp’s tents allows you to catch a rare glimpse of nocturnal animals drinking from the nearby waterhole.

Please note that Spekboom Tented Rest Camp is temporarily closed for bookings.

Activities

  • Spot animals drinking at the waterhole through the viewing slots in the Spekboom Hide.
  • Visitors overnighting in the tents can watch the waterhole at night. A good flashlight is essential for moving around the fenced-in hide at night and spotting animals at the waterhole. Please do not shine lights directly in animals’ eyes.
  • Go on a self-drive game drive during the day and return to the tents before sundown.

Check-in/out Times

  • Check-in: 13:00
  • Check-out: 10:00

Guests must remain within the fenced Spekboom Hide between sunset and sunrise and may not access the rest of the game area during that time.


Travel Information

The Spekboom Tented Camp is situated in the Spekboom Hide which is accessible via the Southern Access Road in the Main Game Area and is about 27km from Matyholweni Gate and Camp. The camp is located about 12km drive away from Addo Rest Camp.
