Media Release: Addo's famous cubs take next step towards returning to the wild

Addo Elephant National Park’s three lion cubs which rose to fame towards the end of last year, orphaned when their mother, Gina, died, have started the next step towards their rehabilitation back into the wild.  Now nine months old, the male and two females have been moved from a holding boma in the park’s main game viewing area to a much larger, 200 hectare camp within the Kuzuko contractual area in the north of the park about 100kms away by road.

Media Release: Green Flag status for Knysna forest trails

Two Hiking trails in the Knysna forest also part of the Garden Route National Park (GRNP) recently received Green Flag status.  Perdekop (9, 5 kilometer nature walk) and Olifants (in Diepwalle) hiking trails were accredited by the Hiking Organisation of Southern Africa (HOSA) on the 14 May 2015.

Media Release: Addo's new wheels against poaching

Addo Elephant National Park’s fight against rhino poaching was stepped up a notch in April when it took ownership of a Polaris all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and a specially designed “rhino anti-poaching” trailer for use in the field.  This was thanks to a financial injection from the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet fundraising programme’s MyPlanet Rhino Fund (administered by the Endangered Wildlife Trust) for the ATV and the Rhino Action Group Effort (RAGE) and TW Steel’s donation of one of only four-of-its-kind trailers.
