Kruger orientation course presented at WCNP
26 October 2009
On 9 and 10 October 2009, Vanessa Strydom (Manager: Conservation Interpretation and Training from SANParks Conservation Services, in the Kruger National Park (KNP)) visited the West Coast National Park Honorary Rangers and presented the Orientation Course for KNP.
Professor Paul van Helden, Co-Director of the DST/NRF Centre of Excellence in Biomedical TB Research at the Faculty of Health Sciences from Stellenbosch University (iKapa HR) presented some of the topics.
Twenty-six attendees from four Southern Parks HR Regions as well as the weekend were enjoyed by all.
One of the WC training officers, Binks MacKenzie treated Vanessa and her two boys, Ben and Leo to a personal conducted tour of the WCNP, including the closed Postberg area where there is much to be seen of interest.
The WC HRs will be forever indebted to Vanessa for the precious time she has taken from her hectic schedule in order to present them with this course and thereby enrich their understanding of SANParks’s flagship, the Kruger National Park.
