Situated in the Pafuri section of the Park (about 70km from Punda Maria Camp Gate), the bush lodge was converted from what used to be called The Employment Bureau of Africa Ltd (TEBA) Tourism Facility.

Media Release: KNP to remove Sirheni Concrete Dam for ecological reasons

The Kruger National Park (KNP) in conjunction with South African National Defence Force (SANDF) will demolish the dam wall at Sirheni, one of the bush camps in the northern part of the Park in the week of 19 – 23 October 2015. The dam was damaged beyond repair during the 2013 floods. Explosives will be used to demolish the dam wall, after which the remains will be removed as part of the rehabilitation process.

Kruger National Park Management expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the next of kin of the teen boy who died at Letaba Rest Camp day visitors’ swimming pool on Thursday afternoon (October 8, 2015). The teen boy from Nkovani Village at Malamulele was in the Park on a church group tour.  

New book release: Kruger Self-Drive - Routes, Roads and Ratings

One of the Kruger National Park (KNP) helicopters with three park officials on board went looking for two rhinos, which were believed to be outside the Park west of Orpen Gate yesterday (18 August 2015). The female rhino and her calf were observed outside the park; and a helicopter was dispatched to locate the animals in order to guide the Game Capture team on the ground.

Phalaborwa Gate inaccessible due to protests on R71 Road

Guests of Kruger National Park are hereby informed that Phalaborwa Gate is currently inaccessible due to protests by communities in the Ba-Phalaborwa area on the access roads such as R71 (leading to Phalaborwa Gate) taking place since Sunday, 2 August 2015. The protests have so far resulted in some vehicles burnt, schools & businesses affected and temporarily closed. Guests are advised to use alternative gates such as Orpen or Punda Maria to access and exit Kruger National Park until further notice.
