News Release: SANParks shine at PMR Africa Awards
The park received awards in three categories, Golden Arrow for its excellence Environmental protection, a Silver arrow for doing most in stimulating economic growth and a Diamond arrow for an outstanding National Park in Free State Province.
According to Johan Taljaard, Golden Gate Highlands National Park: Park Manager, “We are proud of the accolades we have received and we believe that our success is directly attributed to the support of our professional work across the province. Having won the PMR Africa Golden Arrow award bears witness to the great stride that we’ve made in the business. We have established much closer relationships with our adjacent communities which have enabled us to gain deeper insight into the constantly evolving needs of our market.”
The PMR Africa Awards are always the end result of a research process whereby companies, departments, institutions and individuals are nominated and rated by respondents against specific attributes or criteria. The ratings are always based on the perceptions of the respondents. The awards are indicators of a company, department or institution’s competencies. PMR Africa wants the companies to utilise the award, not as a marketing tool only, but also to thank the personnel and staff for creating the perception and reality out there that this company, department or institution is an undisputed leader in the respective industry.
Johan Taljaard further states that caring for our national parks and celebrating their achievements brings to mind all the metaphors of growth, change and reconciliation and by assuming that a collective responsibility in advancing and strengthening the interdependent and mutually reinforcing pillars of sustainable utilisation of our natural heritage.
