Addo’s Golf Day for Conservation

15 April 2011

Funds raised on the day will enable the Park to fund counter-poaching initiatives as well as upgrade accommodation facilities for the SANParks’ Honorary Rangers in the Colchester section.

Fantastic prizes will be on offer including luxury stays at Riverbend Lodge, valued at R7 800, and Kuzuko Lodge, valued at R3 000, in Addo Elephant National Park. A gourmet lunch at Gorah Elephant Camp is also up for grabs.

Addo Elephant National Park, situated only 40 kilometres from Port Elizabeth conserves the “Big 7”, including the Southern Right Whale and Great White Shark. The Park now covers over 180 000 hectares, stretching from the Karoo near Somerset East crossing the Zuurberg Mountains to the coast between Sundays River and Bushmans River Mouth and also includes the Bird Island and St Croix Island groups. The Park offers visitors a wide range of accommodation and eco-activities.

The theme this year’s Golf Day is “Preserving our Natural Heritage”.

Companies and individuals are invited to enter a 4-ball at R1 300 per team and/or sponsor a tee or green for as little as R500. This is an opportunity to associate your company (or yourself) with the conservation efforts of the Addo Elephant National Park. As always, donations of prizes are also very welcome.
