Need help with identification

Unread post by HansTillema »

Hi there, I returned from a trip to Northern KNP today. Whilst at Shingwedzi we met a guy from Komati, who has a huge passion for tuskers. To date, I was most intereated in Leopards and Lions, but this guy awoke something in.me.

As luck would have it we saw the bull in attached pictures. I spent some time trying to id him and also sent Letaba musuem the attached. Krisry will only be back in Jan 2018 but I am very interested to find out who this big boy is. Can the forum perhaps help in the mean time?

Hi Hans Tillema :gflower: A very big welcome to the forums and especially the Tusker Forum.

Thanks for sharing your sighting. Yes, Kirsty is away at the moment and I will try to assist with an ID :hmz: :hmz:

As we are not permitted to publish the exact locations on the open forums, please will you Private Message me with a more specific location on this guy.
(To the right of this post you will see a contact icon - clicking on that will enable you to private message me  )

I'm glad you have realised "Tuskering" - it's very exciting and addictive.

By submitting your sightings, of the tuskers you see in Kruger, to the SANParks Tusker Project via this forum or directly, adds great value to the project.

I saw this impressive guy in October 2017 in the north.
Could this be Xindzulundzulu as well?
I sent a PM with data and location to RosemaryH.

Just found this thread and it reminded me of some photos I took on my last trip. Can you ID this as a tusker? Thanks!
