KTP Leopard: Mpho

Unread post by ice »

Mpho in Tswana which means gift.

Matt has been able to identify the three leopards we saw during our July trip to the park: Masego and then, a few days later, the Auchterlonie female with its cub Mpho. Since sightings of the latter seem to be rare, he has also uploaded some our pictures on his facebook side, for those who are interested.

thanks again, Matt

Hi Wanderw,

Is this "Auchterlonie" leopard and her cub Mpho from the Auchterlonie region? It's quite a distance south from Auchterlonie where we saw them. The mother is missing a canine tooth at the left side from her lower jaw.

Best regards,

Robbert

@Robbert - yes, this is the Auchterlonie female and her cub, and she is missing a tooth. The AF and Mpho started 'exploring' the KTP last November(2015). The AF female was last seen near Leeudril on the 25th of June this year by Sigmund.
