KTP Leopard: Rooiputs Female

We have seen this one near Roiiputs on 27 March 2007

@ AfricanDreams - great pic! Your leopard looks like a female(lighter build). It could be the TR female but I'm not sure - I'm still hunting thru pics, we only seem to have a lot of the left side of the leopard, not her right side! Will keep you posted!

Edited: African Dreams' post is the Rooiputs female - leopard number 1.1 in the ID Guide(04042014).

I also saw this beautiful lady (I think) this year on the Nossob road about 25 km from TR.

Stunning pics! I agree with AfricanDreams - I think you and AD saw the same leopard - your last pic!

Edited: peterpiper's second post on page 1 - Rooiputs female - leopard no. 1.1 in the ID Guide(04042014).

Here is my contribution:

She is who Kgalagadi Guru refers to as the TR female - the one with the two cubs he referred to
on his 'Recent Sightings' thread. We saw her in April 2011, about 3 km from Samevloeiing towards Leeuwdril:

Sorry, not the best quality, but she was quite far off and the photo is heavily cropped.

1) As we do not have a pic of the new TR female(who had the 2 cubs recently), I cannot confirm. However, your pix will then be the first pic on this thread of the new TR female. :thumbs_up:

This is not the old TR female(Maja) and :hmz:

I don't think Jaffles either.

Thanks to everyone for reviving this thread - one of my favorites!!

We saw this female at Leeuwdril on 5 Dec 2010. Not sure if this is the TR female. Think this one might be a bit younger.

Would love to hear your thoughts on where this beauty fits into the KTP leopard family tree!

Jo this is definitely not Maja :thumbs_up:

I've had a quick look and i'm confident that this is the leopard seen by AfricanDreams and Peterpiper (page 1 and 2) during March and November 2007

Peterpiper's and Lono's images, with lines showing some patterns.

So she was at least 4 or 5 when you saw her.

Do you have a shot of the left had side of her head and side as i might have another match aswell :pray:

And then the worst photo ever................

This was on the night drive on the evening of 25/12/2010.

It was right at the Samevloeiing waterhole and at that stage it was running full steam ahead to go catch a BEF............so I very sorry about the quality this is just proof that there is a leopard living at Samevloeiing.

Here is a picture of the left side of the Leeudril leopard (as seen on 5 Dec 2010).

I also find another picture that clearly indicates a match with PeterPiper's leopard:

The exact same markings can also be seen on AfricanDreams' picture (page 1)

This is a closer crop of Lion Queen's side photo

You can clearly see this "paw" print on Lionspoons picture on page 18.

So it looks like only forumites with "lion" in their name get to see this beauty!..how ironic :roll:

She also had a few cubs earlier this year...any news of them?

Same area as big Male,
Date : 15-5-2010

She was scared for vechiles, cub did not come out to allow us for pics at all, very scared
