A wonderful way to celebrate World Ranger day. The monument is beautiful - the strength and incredible resilience of the Leadwood is a fitting representation of the guts and determination of our great rangers. Thank you, one and all.

Honorary Rangers, you are stars too; I'm sure your efforts to uplift the working conditions of the rangers are much appreciated.

Sal, the VHRs will also be getting involved in Project Relax, we are sharing a ranger post with Bosveld region; a remote post near Shimuwini, Mahlangeni. As soon as we know what is needed, we are hoping forum members will also get involved in this project.

What a beautiful monument to remember those who have lost their lives in protecting our national parks! Nothing else could be more applicable to symbolise the rangers' dedication than the lead wood stump.

This event was also the kick-off of Project Relax. The aim is to uplift the quality of life of the rangers and their families. As a start the SANParks Honorary Rangers has donated R 150 000 worth of items to all the rangers posts throughout Kruger. The items include furniture, jungle gyms, board games and vegetable gardens.

This is such a great initiative!

It is a fitting monument with its stonework and Leadwood stump!
We can nominate the SanParks Honorary Rangers as a beneficiary of the free " My School My Village My Planet " or Woolworths card. We get discounts and a small percentage of our spend goes to the Honorary Rangers.
Kalahari.com , Waltons , Altech Netstar and various others are also donating a proportion of the spend to the nominated beneficiary.
Have a look at http://www.myschool.co.za Or you could phone on 0860 100 445 they are very helpful.
I joined this several years ago, but if we all join, we can really make a difference.

Kite, I agree.

This is really a fitting memorial to the dedication of those who give willingly with no thought of return.
