Thanks for posting the video Flip&Elmien  Will be an interesting to keep an eye on this one
Your reply from the team :D
It is an interesting female, not one I have seen before, the hole could have been caused by damage from sharp vegetation or sometimes in fights and the damage has healed creating this hole. It is unusual to my knowledge to have one so far in towards the lobe though. I noted her tusks fairly think and are also quiet skew so she could be easily recognized. Hopefully more footage of her will be forthcoming in the future.

Hi jaytea :)

Unfortunately not a named tusker but none the less a beauty  Thanks for posting.

This is a nice bull and is he young so he will be worth monitoring as a potential emerging tuskers but I would want to see more development first.

Others travelling in the area be sure to keep a look out for him

Thanks Rosemary! He was nice and chilled so hopefully he will become a good ambassador for the tuskers in the future!

Given the angle and image quality a 100% identification is really not possible, as much as I would love to give you a name I would not want to mislead anyone with a guarantee. Given the shape and length and lack of markings in the right ear I am leaning towards Mavalanga but it is really difficult to be certain.

During Dec'13 we spotted this elephant with one relatively large tusk at Mopani.
I am interested to know if this elephant is a known one.

Really nice sighting and pictures Kaapsedraai - thanks.

While this is a beautiful old bull with so much character, he is sadly not a large tusker.

Anyway, I saw this bull in August somewhere between Tshange and Shingwedzi. A tusker maybe?

This is a new bull first seen in July this year and this is only the second sighting I have received of him, he has very characteristic ears markings and is certainly a superb bull and is high on the monitoring list. The initial sighting was north of Mopani, so it is good to know he also roams further north towards Mopani. I would love to receive these images via email.

Well Done JenB - I thought this was a goodie.  Hope you are able to submit your photo's :k
This is our new bull who has suddenly popped up at Satara recently, we have some really good footage of him now and he is definitely on the list to be named. I would appreciate if JenB could email her images to me as part of the project as she has a nice frontal and left side view as historically this bull only seems to like showing his right side ;o)

Sure, I will send my pics!

Just remind me of the email again?

As a matter of interest, we found him napping. He found a comfortable tree, hooked his tusk into the fork of a branch and zzzzzzzzzzzz......
We had to hang around for sometime waiting for him to wake up.

Afraid you are going to have to go back to Kruger JenB to get some more shots of this one
This is not one I recognize and as JenB says he did not really give her good pic’s. He is certainly worth watching and perhaps in time I can match his features if some additional images come forward.

:)
Let's keep an eye out for this one when in the Ngotso Dam area

Hello

I photographed this elephant around Letaba in the Kruger National Park last August (2014)

I was wondering if you could help and tell me if this is one of the current emerging Tuskers in the Park?
