Celebrities and famous people.

Unread post by Bundi »

I dont know if this is the right page for this thread so please move it if you have to mods.

Largely becuase of this forum, a few famous individual animals have been "created" over the years, like Duke, Kameo and many more.

Maybe it will be interesting to see which famous people the mites have encounrered in the Park over the years.

I will start the thread with the following story from the late eighties:

We were at a lion sighting on the Lower Sabie / Skukuza highway when this couple, with a driver, stopped next to us asking what we were looking at. My grandfather duly replied, just to realize it was X president PW Botha and his wife. It took him a few seconds before saying "Good morning Mr President."

While staying in letaba in july 2004 I managed to meet Naas Botha who was staying with his wife a few bungalows away from us. He was very friendly and it added to a great trip!

A few years ago we met Anrich Herbst on the S100 at a serval sighting and had a nice chat with him at the Gudzani WH. The LO liked him a lot!

He is a SA actor and has played roles in Orkney Snork Nie, Egoli, Plek Van Die Vleiseters, Villa Rosa, etc.

KNP is sacred. I am opposed to the modernisation of Kruger and from the depths of my soul long for the Kruger of yesteryear! 1000+km on foot in KNP incl 56 wild trails.200+ nights in the wildernessndloti-indigenous name for serval.

In 1990 myself and a group of professional golfers from the sunshine tour spent 3 nights at Jock of the Bushveld camp, to blow off some steam after a hectic sunshine tour schedule. Some of the professionals were, Des Terblanche, Ashley Roestoff, Sean and Craigen Pappas..........and a certain Mr Ernie Els to name a few.. We turned a few heads when we arrived at picnic spots and rest camps. We did the same thing at Boulders camp the previous year.

Many of you will know her from the leading role she played in Liewe Heksie a few years ago.
