Unread post by RosemaryH »

Here's yet another butterfly that I need ID help for. Again seen in my garden in Darling in October 2011.

Can anyone help with an ID for these butterflies? Are there two (or even three) different sorts? Seen at Marakele on 10 April 2012.

arks,
The most obvious bfly shown is Junonia hierta, common name "Yellow Pansy". The orange one to the right is very difficult to see the entire underwing, but look at Byblia ilithyia, common name "Common Joker or Spotted Joker" and see what you think. (The vague brown one....can't tell, sorry.)
