Bloem Meet 2009

Unread post by pantera leo »

Hey all Bloem Mites how about a meet again, I think it's long overdue!

Thought of holding it on the 21 November when it's also the Stiffnecs first B-Day and making it a big bash, but now also considering the 27th with it being the Forum B-Day! We could then do a double Birthday Bash

I was thinking of doing a nice braai/picnic at the Botanical Gardens seeing we are all Nature Lovers or should we say Junkies!!!
Please feel free to post if you have some suggestions, would love to hear them!

Hope to hear from all of the Bloem folk and to see you all at the meet!

:yaya: Count me in! The Botanical Gardens sounds great to me, having a braai and a walk around
The 21st sounds good to me, the 27th might be a problem for me (although I have the day off then, it would depend on the time of the meet then)
Already looking forward to the meet, lets show all the other 'mites how bloemmies 'mites do it!
8)

Thank you Pantera leo for this suggestion!

1 week later, and we are back in cold Canberra. Winter in Summer
A big thankyou for all the comments :D
We must enter another "honorary" forumite to last Saturdays meet. I spoke with Granny B on Sunday, and she told me why she did not attend. We were not aware of her reason for not coming. She had a robbery at her home :( :x
Owing to the circumstances, and with her being very upset about it & not being able to come, we have decided to add her to the list like Scot. I will adjust the previous list that i put up.
It is now down to saving for the next trip
Once again, thanks to all the "WONDERFUL FORUMITES" that we met

Aniversary Birthday it's coming up

Unread post by Sparks »

I tend to forget seemingly important dates like so's birthday and aniversary and things that get me in to a tight spot but this one deserves a party  Stiffnecks is up for one, call it a birthday or anniversary or what ever you want this is the perfect opportunity for a big bash.

Let's have a big get together on that day in all the different areas covered by stiffnecks. I want to suggest a birding outing and a bit of a lunchtime braai at northern farm for the folks in the Gauteng area. There is a nice area at one of the dams with a hide and open space to park and sit around under the trees and get to know each other better. Any one with a better suggestion? Who's in?

Other areas lets pull together and have a bit of a birthday bash even if it is only you and so on a birding trip. Post a report and pics :cam:

Oops! the date? you'l have to ask jenbird
Adventure is out there. Go find it

I think we should rather postpone, the weather does not look promising for an outdoor birding braai.

How about next Saturday (28 November)?
Where? You guys an' gals can make the call, Sparks will be driving. 8)

Thats better Jen...this week would just be miserable. Even if the rain stops everywhere would be so wet.

How about Rietvleis next week?

Visited the Botanical Gardens today to see whether it's dry enough so we don't have a mud wallow party going and all seems fine! Even if it rains some more then I saw some spots with a bit more grass! The gardens are looking absolutely beautiful after the rains we had thus far and I can't wait to get back there!

 Will be at the Gardens from 8:15! So if anybody wants to come a bit before twelve for a bit of birding please join me! (It's the Stiffnecks B-Day after all!) Will have a RR tied to my backpack!
