In the latest Butterfly field guide, some common names have changed. Same as what is happening in the birding world (Black-shouldered kite now Black-winged Kite as an example).
"Official" common name - African Plain Tiger. Alternative common name - African Monarch.
I think everyone still refers to it as Monarch though.
