I have been in contact with Icurrie and am trying to organise for her to meet all our wonderful CT Forumites on Thursday 15th of May. Icurrie would like to meet at a non-touristy place. They are staying in the Southern Subs.
After our hugely successfull meet at the end of the year at MN & SO's place, K. O'Dee and I would like to offer our home as a venue, unless of course there is some other CT forumite who would like to host this meet. Our place is about one third the size of MN's (without exagerating). We have to keep in mind that May is sort of like winter in CT! We do have a carport that we can braai under if the rains come down!

So? Who's up for another party! We could even play our "gift stealing" game!!

Venue: Rondevlei, Cape Town.

Time: 7h25 sharp, gates open at 7h30

Bring: Binos, bird book, camera (to prove to deefstes and others we saw it), R10, snacks ( I get hungry & thirsty )

Rondevlei has a working bird list of about 180 species and I can send it to you in Excel format if you like. pm me with your email address. Unfortunately it is in old names.

I expect we will be there for about 2,5 hours

Directions: Take M5 from Northern suburbs, take Grassy Park turn off, proceed through the 'town; centre and then follow the signs. Take prince George's Drive and turn right into Grassy Park and then same as above.

I shall not have the fire engine, but my wife's blue metallic BMW.

Munchkin + SO, Nyala and I had a great time at Rondevlei.

Saw: big vagrant (not WTM) and bird ringing in operation.

31 species ID'ed.

Nyala has some photos. Will continue later, but now need to support my wife on her 22nd Argus Tour. Should have time tonight while the remains recover.

Argus mission accomplished in under 6 hours. Not bad for an old girl who undertrained.

Wish you were all here!! having a ball! Just snuck out to give you all an update! The braai is going - the liquids are flowing - loads of bonding and good advise going backwards and forwards! Fortunately my computer is in the kitchen so know one thinks I'm rude by dissapearing for a little while. Have taken some pics, will get more later of people stuffing their faces and get JDO to post for me soon.!

Thx to all our CT-mites who gave "currie & rice" such a warm CT welcome!! Thx too to all those who so generously brought along salads, chips etc! We definately have the best bunch of forumites living here in CT.
The weather played the game too and we had a perfect evening outside around the braai - NO rain - NO wind!!
A big thank you also to all the "mites" & SO's who helped decorate the outside toilet - To those of you who are confused about the toilet issue look out for the photos that will follow!

I will get JDO to post a pic of our guests of honour this afternoon. The rest will follow a little later, probably late Saturday or Sunday! Sorry guys - but as some of you know, I have to work through the night tonight! Eish - after getting to bed some time after 1am this morning, how AM I going to survive? - Red Bulls here I come!!

To icurrie & russ - thanks for making the time to meet our wonderful CT-mites, and giving us all the excuse to party in the middle of the week. We hope your trip to KTP will be an awesome experience!

im glad to hear that every one had fun!
2 items managed to find there way into last property last night. 1) a western province blood transfusion wine bag and 2) a springboks cap.

We're back! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU for such a wonderful welcome! C O'Dee, K O'Dee and JDO you really are hosts in a million! It was such an honour to meet all the CT forumites and quite humbling to receive such a warm welcome from all you special people! We had a really great time in KTP and the mini meet in Kielie Krankie was just a continuation of the party! The Kalahari girls brought 'their' weather with them and it rained a little during the last night .... so we got to see another side of KTP with their compliments (... not sure if Michele's broom is actually a rain making kit ... ) .. as for sightings.... I'm not telling - you'll have to wait for the trip report but I will say that the Kalahari Girls brought us luck ....
