Kudu Awards

Unread post by Jazil »

Seeing as we've had record new users registered and to refresh some of the memories .. just a short note on how to get Kudu's ... (that's the Kudu's above your avatar for those who don't know yet)...

How does a Member get a Kudu?
Kudu's are not allocated as on other forums by the number of posts, but are allocated through nomimations.

What are Nominations?
Nominations are votes by Forum members for other Forum Members.

How do you Nominate?
By sending a PM to any Mod.

Who should you Nominate?
Any member who you feel is contributing to the forum in a positive way, that he/she is adding tremendous value, insight and experiences relating to SANParks and the website/forum and has really gone above and beyond, can nominate that member for a Kudu ...

How many nominations do you need to get a Kudu?
1 Kudu = 5 Nominations
2 Kudu's = 20 Nominations
3 Kudu's = 40 Nominations
4 Kudu's = 75 Nominations
5 Kudu's = 100 Nominations

What do the different Kudu's mean?

{empty space} = a member
Image = Junior Virtual Ranger
Image = Virtual Ranger
Image = Senior Virtual Ranger
Image = Distinguished Virtual Ranger (Old name was Veteran Virtual Ranger)
Image = Legendary Virtual Ranger (Old name was Honorary Virtual Ranger

Image = Moderator
Image = Assistant Moderator
Image = Guru (SANParks staff)

Once you have a kudu is your nomination tally reset?
The tally stays the same ... so if you had 5 and you get a kudu and you get 3 more then your total will be 8, and so on.

May a forum member nominate someone twice for a kudu?
Yes a forum member can nominate someone more than once for a kudu, but NOT in the same month, and always remembering, that you are nominating a member who you feel is contributing to the forum in a postive way adding tremendous value, insight and experiences relating to SANParks and the website/forum.

Do you have to motivate why you are nominating someone?

If you really want to motivate, you may, but it's not neccesary.

I do hope that this comes as reminder to all, exactly what the Kudu Nominations are about, and what they are and how to nominate.
Don't forget to PM any Mod your Kudu nominations for the month.

It has been decided to change the following:

Do you have to motivate why you are nominating someone?
If you really want to motivate, you may, but it's not neccesary.

to read:

Do you have to motivate why you are nominating someone?
Yes, it would be appreciated if you would state for what reason you are nominating someone.

Thanks,
