Hello Fellow Forumites,
To update chirinda's helpful guidelines...
Den Staat Road is decent from one end to the other. Only one small section has a manageable detour around a drainage area.
The N1 after Louis Trichardt heading towards Musina has been repaved. It's been repaved but surprisingly quite bumpy. Hopefully there's another topcoat coming to even it out.

Thank you RayK, that's good news to hear that Den Staat is in better condition, and that the N1 has been resurfaced. I don't think they had much choice, there is so much heavy vehicle traffic that damages that poor road. Hopefully it will be upgraded again soon.
