Wild Card Questions

Unread post by Yoda »

My son (18) (international) and myself (SA) have a Kruger trip booked for early August. 10 nights :dance:

And I have a number of questions:

1) I worked out that 7 nights is the break even cut off to make a Wild Card worth while. Is this correct ?

2)From my research, the best for my situation is a wild card for an individual international and another individual SA ??

3) How is best to do ? Online before arriving ? Or at first camp ? I would prefer not to have to be doing this at check in

4) If I do online, do I need to register an account on the SANP website

Thanks

@colbol,

Thanks for replying.

If possible, I would like to sort out the wild card in advance.
But good to hear that its easy to do at one of the camps too

It looks like to buy it online you do need to create an account first, see this link:

Hi, we're visiting Kruger next year and will get new Wild Cards on-line and bring printed copies, so no problem with this. But I'm trying to understand the conservation fees, and whether these are in addition to having a Wild Card or not. I see from the table provided that the fee is R535/person (presumably per day?) for international visitors, but it also states that members of the SANParks loyalty program "WILD" are exempt from paying the conservation fee. Can anyone advise? Many thanks. Paul

Hi PLieching,

Depending om how long or how often you visit any of the SANParks it will be either be better to buy a Wild Card (Loyalty Program) or just pay the daily conservation fees.

There are different clusters (groups of parks) and different types of cards (Individual, Couples and Families). International clients have their own cluster and pricing.

Please see here for more details.

Thanks, goddit. It's either one or the other. We're going for 9 nights and will just get a Wild Card as per previous visits. I had wrongly thought we may have to pay both. Now we just need to wait for reservations to become available for October next year. Meanwhile, I'll just have to fantasize about a nice cold ale on the poopdeck at Lower Sabie watching the swallows and swifts whizzing around. Can't wait!
