With a normal distribution of the Atlantic and Gulf coasts of North America and also common in the Caribbean and on both coasts of Central America and northern South America (source eBird: https://ebird.org/species/laugul) it is no wonder that when the alert came in on Monday 7 February 2022 that one of these birds turned up in Mosselbay that it caused quite a stir in the birding community. I had to wait till the Saturday before I could get a chance to drive up to see this bird.
