Nyala Drive (S64)

Unread post by arks » Sun Nov 26, 2006 10:18 pm

This post, which was originally a quizz, was mistakenly/inaccurately included under the thread for Thulamela. It in fact has nothing to do with Thulamela apart from being in the same general area. Thus, I have now created a new topic for the Nyala Drive, which is one of the most unusual scenic areas of the park. I will dig out some of my other pix and post them soon

You don't really notice this tree if you only drive the loop part of Nyala Drive, but if you drive out the extension that goes towards Lanner Gorge (and past the Thulamela site), when you return, you just can't miss this quite distinctive baobab, which is right at the T-junction formed where the extension road abuts the loop road.. It is the tree's 3-stem structure that makes it so distinctive and unusual.
