Junior Honorary Rangers - East Rand

Unread post by jamestav »

We meet every 3rd Saturday of the month between at 09:00 to 12:00 at the Northfield Methodist Church, Benoni, unless we have an outing planned. Join us in 2019 for a fun filled year of activities, outing and conservation education.

WHO ARE THE JUNIOR HONORARY RANGERS?
Junior Honorary Rangers (JHR's) are volunteers between the ages of 12 and 18 who participate in a youth development programme that develop various life skills. It is the junior leg of the SANParks Honorary Rangers (SHRs) a voluntary organisation which has been in existence for more than 50 years and has a proud tradition of passionate service to SANParks.

The JHR's are involved in some of the activities of the SHR’s but will meet on their own and follow their own programme. JHR’s will take a leading role in conservation clubs and environmental projects in their schools and communities. JHR’s are also encouraged to visit the National Parks.

WHAT DO THE JHR’s DO?
Our 2019 programme is jam packed with exciting conservation outings and educational activities, so if you enjoy the great outdoors, this is the group for you.

James - thanks for posting - i am impressed by the program/organisation that the juniors have set up.
No wonder when visiting SA Parks we see a well formed Professionel based Ranger- (Honoray or otherwise) !!
Keep up the tradition   it is appreciated.
Cheers Colin
