Water Hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) in the Letaba River

Unread post by Mant »

We were shocked to see how much Water Hyacinth was in the Letaba River on the H1-6 when we were there on 13 December 2020 which is a NEMBA Category 1b alien invasive from South America.

I think SANPark’s should start getting rid of it now before it takes over the whole river and others because it is very hard to get rid of and can kill all the animals, fish and birds that live in or on the river and I think it should be brought to SANPark’s attention.

Something needs to be done A.S.A.P.
