Access to SANparks WITHOUT Physical Wild Card

Unread post by [email protected] »

Hi all, We are traveling to Kruger and other parts of SA from the US next week and wish to purchase the Wild Card international pass online. However, due to shortage of time, we won't be able to receive the actual card in the mail.

My questions:
1. Will the park officials give me a hard time if I show the email confirmation from SANparks that I've paid for the Wild Card, and demand the daily conservation fee, since I cannot produce the physical card?
2. Is it better at this late juncture, to buy the Wild Card as soon as we enter Kruger? If yes, does Skukuza sell Wild Cards? Is there a website or a phone number I can call to make sure that they do indeed sell Wild Cards and their office hours.

Thanks in advance.

Warm welcome to the forum Malathyc.

To answer your questions

It is perfectly OK to bring the confirmation letter with you and the gate officials will accept that no problem.

If you prefer you can purchase the wild card on arrival at Skukuza, there as well you won't be issued with the actual card but with a receipt which you can keep for the duration of your visit.
Your card will be mailed to you some time in the future.

Have a wonderful trip.

Yes the choice is yours whether you buy online or in the park, but please be aware that if you buy it in the park, you will need to go online within 30 days of purchase, to update your details.

Failure to do this will render your card invalid for further use.

Wishing you a wonderful visit.
