Photographed at ********* Is it just a big one or is there a tusker in the area?

Hi GP

Not familiar to me and perhaps the angle but tusks don't look too big. :hmz: However I will confirm with the experts

Nice tusks worth monitoring but not a large bull yet. Distinctive notch so it will be easy to monitor him.
Ellie 3
Tusks still too small

This is an exciting one......Definitely a tusker but no ID markers visible so a definite ID not possible – do you have any other images of this bull Oumie?

Elephant in Sabi area circa 1988

Unread post by wilddog.6 »

I am attaching photographs of an elephant I took in the Sabi Sands area circa 1988 and wondering if this was one of the tuskers from those days.

Hi wilddog.6 and a warm welcome to the forums.

I certainly will forward your photo's onto the team and post the feedback here

My thoughts are this is Phelwana but I'll wait for a response

wilddog.6 the location unfortunately rules out my thought of this guy being Phelwana.

Difficult to make a call from these shots. Do you perhaps have any other shots which show his left ear more clearly?

This elephant is a female, and we thought she was one that would worth keeping an eye on for the future. She has a very distinctive tear in her ear but she did making getting a good shot hard by hiding in the trees.
