Welcome to the forums, Archiebloch.
I hope there has been rain in Tankwa, but am not sure of it.

Yes. Fairly good rains so far this winter in the park (as a matter of fact there has been more rain already this year than the entire last year if my info is correct).
All things point to a reasonably good chance of a good flower season from the end of July onwards.

There have been reports of both the Renoster and Tankwa rivers flowing, albeit localised and short-lived. As far back as mid-April there were pools of standing water in the Ongeluksrivier (as you enter the park from the Ceres side) and in the veld. Since then there have been several reports of good rain in the park.
Latest lifers (572): Red Knot, Bar-tailed Godwit, Protea Canary, White-backed Duck, Namaqua Warbler, Yellow-throated Longclaw, Corn Crake, Buffy Pipit, Eurasian Hobby, Böhm's Spinetail, Green Sandpiper

Thank you Lion Queen for reminding us that the flower season in the Tankwa Karoo National Park has arrived  It would be great to see some :cam: of the flowers.

I visited Tankwa for the first time beginning of August. And there where some patches of flowers (see may picture below). I have been in many parks, but for me this is the worst park of them all. Nothing you do not see when driving through other parts of the Karoo and really terrible roads, which make even Game driving simply very unpleasant (not that there is much game anyway). And one has to be back at the camps when it would get interesting for sunset or night pictures.
I came from the Cedarberg where I stayed before and I would rather stay there for longer.
