Choose your favourite bungalow: Satara BD2V

Unread post by roaneric »

We get so many questions about which units are the best. So we thought it's a good idea to put up polls and let you help us decide which units are favourites. I will do all the types of units and all the camps in the next few weeks and will update the 'index to best unit numbers'. If you want to, you can tell us why you think it's a good location.

We will start with SATARA BD2V

I have only been lucky enough to stay in these perimeter bungalows once before and was allocated # 178 if I remember correctly but it was quite far from the fence and we didn't get to see much at night but did get a visit by an African wild cat and her kitten so that was a nice bonus and the birding in the tree in front of the unit was amazing.

I've stayed in these units 3 times.

In terms of position to the fence 167 is the closest. Unfortunately it was also the one I hated staying in - it was the worst unit I've ever had in the park. There was a long-term leak from the toilet cistern, with subsequent damp and musty smell and staining, the fridge was inside the unit as it couldn't fit into the cage outside so that was rather noisy (and yes all this was reported at the time).

The higher numbers are a little closer to the staff village so you do get some noise so I've voted for 171, proximity to the fence, nicer unit and away from potential noise.
