Through my lens over the years I captured many Kingfishers images, so join me on a colorful journey of one of South Africa most beautiful and colourful birds. I will share portraits, different type of catches and images in flight....so please bear with me...
Most Kingfishers are water birds but some Kingfishers, however, are not associate with water at all. These catch mainly insects.
All Kingfishers are colourful attractive birds and made the most beautiful photographs.
There are 10 types of Kingfishers in SA. At the moment I have captured 7 of them and the only Kingfishers outstanding are he Greywooded, Mangove and the small Pigmy.....may be one day
This is just my journey spending may hours at waterholes and travel may kilometers to get the perfect Kingfisher image....
Comments and views will be most appreciated.
To get the ball on the roll .....portraits of the Kingfishers....

Re: Kingfishers seen through my lens
Wow, I'm going to enjoy this one. Thanks very much for starting this thread Jan. Any chance you would be able to list a few of the places where you've seen some of the 'harder' spots, like the Half Collared?
To see a sunrise in KNP is to see magic.
