Family Wild Card

Unread post by Danielle Heijnens »

Hello ,

We are going to visit some parks with our family consisting of 5 people. Our children are 3 boys aged 16, 14 and 14 years. What is the age of a child at enrtee? 12 years old or is 16 years old a child? If we have to pay the adult price for our children, we are certainly cheaper with a Family Wild Card but how do we order it? Can we buy a Family Wild Card straight away at Tokia and does it need passport photograph? Kind regards Danielle

Welcome to the forums Danielle.
You can usually buy at Tokai, but there are sometimes issues with the internet connection, so online would be best probably.

It sounds as though a family card would suit you very well.

Entrance ages for children are as follows:
Under 2 yrs - Free
2-11 yrs - Child
12yrs+ - Adult

Wild Card ages for children as follows:
0-17yrs - Child

You can find the prices here

Hope you have a wonderful trip.

G'Day,

We will be flying from Australia to Johannesburg & picking up a hire car to drive around Kruger NP for a month. We have all our accom. booked through SanParks & want to purchase an international Wild Card but our question is when do we purchase this card??

We will spend the month of August in the park & as the Wild Card valid is for 12 months we would like it to start from as close to August as possible as we may return within the 12 months :) :D

Is it best to:
Buy now & have it posted to Aus.?
Buy closer to the date & take copy of receipt with us??
Buy at our entry gate (Crocodile Bridge) on arrival???

Hope you can help, we are very excited about this trip which has been over 12 months in the planning

Cheers,
Gaye & Garry

You can buy your Wild Card when you arrive at the gate.
Isn't it just amazing how potatoes give us fries and vodka? :D The rest of the vegetables should get their act together :rtm:

I agree if you don’t want it to be active until you start your trip, don’t buy till you arrive.

Some gates sell them, and some gates tell you to buy at your first camp.

Just remember to keep your receipt and letter to show at all the other camps.

Also if you buy at a gate or camp you need to update your details online within 30 days of purchase, otherwise your card will be invalid.

Wow a month in Kruger...,, lucky monkeys!!!!

Your card will probably have arrived by the time you return to Oz!!

Wishing you a wonderful and safe trip.

Yes international credit cards are accepted anywhere in the park.

Occasionally the lines are down, and we can't use our credit cards, but they are always very accommodating, and just tell us to buy when we can. The last time we needed to renew in the park this was the case, and we were 2 days before we could purchase, but there was no problem at all, just did it at the first opportunity.

Having said that, always best to have some cash with you for other items, incase the lines are down. For example the shops, the restaurants, petrol etc............unlike the Wild Card, you will be expected to pay for those there and then.

I always buy/renew my WildCard about a week before I expect to enter my first park or/and a week before I am departing for SA. That way, I also have a copy of my confirmation letter and don't need to worry about updating my details on line later on, which I believe that you must do if you buy/renew your card at the gate?
