Got this cow and calf enjoying a morning drink together at Eendrag (old age setting in - I'm pretty sure that was where it was  )

I'm going to add my own "mother and child" bird picture, just because it was such a special sighting. It was taken close to Punda.

Image

even as juvenile, this eagle is a "king" among the birds.
The bird doesn't sing because it has answers, it sings because it has a song.

I just love mother and child pictures. They always brighten my day. These are a few from my latest trip.

A one day old Nyala with its mother. It was born in the picnic site the previous day. Although mom was hiding her infant in the bushes, she did allow us a brief look.

Image

I love baboons and can watch them for hours. I wish I could have managed a better picture of this typical toddler, but mom was very protective.

Image

A caring Hyena mama, close to Shingwetzi. It was only when I got home that I realised that mama had a big ugly wound on her buttocks. She was very gentle and loving with these little cubs who no doubt added to her pain at times.

Image

Zebras are always photogenic, but babies even more so. A mother and child picture close to Pafuri picnic site.
