A photo posted in a private conversation set me thinking...... We meet the cleaning staff, the restaurant staff, receptionists, security etc.......but there are many more folk in KNP (and of course other parks) that we never see but who do a sterling job behind scenes keeping things running.
Laundry staff, maintenance, road workers, etc.....
Have you met any of them? Can you tell us about their work? Let's give them some recognition.

On the way back from a good supper at Cattle Barron in Kruger this evening, I stopped at Housekeeping. Each evening I have noticed lights on there and a mound of laundry.
While we sleep tonight, this gent sorts and counts the laundry to send to the laundry and issue the next day.

Wow, we really don't know what happens behind the scenes.
Makes one appreciate them even more.

Re: Unsung heroes
I agree 100% that we need to acknowledge the many people behind the scenes who make it possible for us to relax and have a thoroughly enjoyable time.

Re: Unsung heroes
I think most of us never really think of those unsung heros working behind the scenes or spotlight and this gent is one that deserves a huge

Re: Unsung heroes
2 year ago I met and chatted to the road Grader driver who had stopped for a break at Crookes Corner. He new more about what animals to look for on what roads and where the best birding sites were than most Field Guides, no disrespect meant but this this guy was a bag of knowledge. He said all he does is grade and look so knows the roads almost better than anyone else. Next time you see one of these guys have a chat you might get some interesting intel.
