Morning all,

Here are some pics which were taken at Quibitje Quab, you might have noted that there hasn’t been pics from Twee Rivieren for a while. The reason being we were trying out n new make of cam, which was a bit disappointing as it seems it couldn’t handle the heat. Problem will be solved and pics will be posted again. The other cam is currently up at Urikaruus.

The pictures from Nossob didn’t get so much animal movement but stunning birds of prey pics.

I'm positive (from the spots) that this is Langklaas, the same leopard that you previously caught on the camera trap at Qubitji Quab. Do you have a rough date for when it was captured??

Please use the online form or download the spreadsheet to report leopard sightings.
You can also download a free copy of the identification guides for KTP and Augrabies.

@Adtormat,

I will find out for you regarding the date, I come to the conclusion that the leopard we see at Qubitji Quab i sthe same leopard the whole time.

As you all have noted it takes a bit longer now to post the pictures and the reason being that since we have received larger SD cards I can put the cams out for longer periods, although problems will always come forth as some of the areas/cams are still trail and error.

The cam I had up at Urikaruus firstly couldn’t handle the heat as some of the other cams so I took a cam from TR and put it up, then it worked BUT the distance from the cam to the waterhole was just to great and couldn’t take good night pictures. Now I have made a new termite mound which will be put up closer to the waterhole.

Currently the cams are up at Kieliekrankie, Leeuwdrill and Maries se Draai. Hopefully I will get the cards on Friday where I will then go through them and post some good pictures.

Morning all,

I retrieved the cam from Leeuwdril and it became clear that with all the rain that we have been having the animals can chose where they would like to drink. The calcrete ridge holds fresh water from the rains so the animals prefer to drink there. It can be seen with the amount of pictures taken by the cams.

Here are some pics from the Leeuwdril cam.

Morning All,

Sorry for being late again but there is just so much to do and so little time, BUT I’m trying to post as much as possible . Some good news is that we have had a management meeting where the Trap Cams were discussed and the outcome was that at each of the three camps a board will be put up of the best recent trap cam pictures (So I’m busy to sort that one out now).

Then i have a problem that my PC doesn’t always want to read the SD cards and I have to use other peoples Computers to get the pictures

Here are some pics from the Houmoed cam, the Kij Kij cam hasn’t been retrieved yet.
The cam took 3800 pics whereby 3700 was of a piece of grass right in front of the cam, every time the wind would blow and the grass would move and then the cam would take a picture of it, so i have now got pictures of the grass from every angle.

Enjoy

On Saturday there was a Cheetah kill about 50m from the waterhole which was a recipe for some very good cam pics... here they are.

Ok....most of the other work is done so now I can post again some of the Trap cam pics. The following pics were taken from a cam which was put up at Witgat (One of the camps on the Nossob 4x4 eco trail), some guests were lucky enought to experience the lions in camp and I always wanted to know what happens at the waterhole at night.....and now we know.

Secretary bird with its prey it just caught.
