Great photos Jan! I'm just glad he didn't attack the poor Thick-knees! At least the Egyptian Goose (Geese?) taught him a lesson! Attacking something bigger? .... This arrogant little Fish Eagle is looking for trouble ....! :D

Yip Hilda.. as usual the youth have more guts .... :hmz:

Focusing on his new targets....the Bushbucks

Image

Then it happened ...my best sighting ever and will upload my once in a life time images over the next few days.

Ok......first he chased the adult Bushbuck away ....

Image

Then this young Bushbuck had enough guts and stepped in.......

Image

What happens next with the reaction of the Fish Eagle has never been recorded before...( I think)

Turned his head to one side with his eyes focused on the Bushbuck

Image

Then very arrogantly ignored the Bushbuck by looking away...

Image

Turn his head again and looked him again in the eyes...

Image

Image

Could not believe it when he suddenly started grooming and showing off ...maybe he wanted to intimidate the Bushbuck....

Image

Image

To be continued...the real standoff!!
