Crocodile Bridge was in my opinion, leagues ahead of the others.

The camp was neat, the ablutions spotless, and there were no maintenance issues that I noticed. They even had forms in the ablutions you could fill in if you noticed something that needed to be repaired, or upgraded. The cleaning register in the ablutions was up-to-date and had been filled in regularly, indicating a regular cleaning schedule.

The other camps were not in the same condition though. The biggest disappointment being the ablution block at Skukuza that was dirty and in an extremely bad state of repair. There had been no obvious upgrade or maintenance since the last time I had stayed in Skukuza - two years prior.

Well done Crocodile Bridge - keep it up!!

Were we there at the same time?

I also stayed at Skukuza and Croc Bridge. Croc Bridge gets my vote for camp of the year.

Scoppi,

26. In case of a member continuously breaking the rules within a short space of time, the perpetrator may be banned for 7 day cooling period awaiting an official warning/suitable ban. Members who violate the rules repetitively, members that are deemed to be guilty of gross misbehaviour and banned members who register again without approval from the SANParks E-Business Manager, will be removed and banned immediately without any notification.

It is a pity you have so little regard for the rules of these forums! Good bye!

I think every camp should implement this small, but effective tool.

Well done Croc Bridge :D

Satara has it! They put them in the huts. I guess they must also have them in the camp-site ablutions. very good idea.

Well done SanParks Reservations

Unread post by Desert Dassie » Wed Aug 22, 2012 8:31 pm

I just want to take the opportunity to thank and congratulate Sanparks reservations and especially Bridget Bagley at the trails department.
We had booked the Lonely Bull trail for 5 September, unfortunately one of our group broke his leg this last weekend and we had to cancel his place. Since this was less than 30 days before we were scheduled to do the trail, we were told that we would probably lose the payment for the trail, however since it was a medical issue we should submit the medical information and they would review the case. But we received a new confirmation letter for the new smaller group size.
Yesterday one of the group managed to find another person to join our group and we were back to full compliment, but now needed to cancel the cancellation.
Not sure if this is a common occurence that Sanparks faces but despite initial skepticism as to their being able to ensure that we didn't have to pay again - Sanparks staff and especially Bridget made it happen - and politely and helpfully throughout!
After initially feeling deflated by the inability of one of our group to join us, we now feel upbeat and see this as a great start to our Kruger adventure. Hope to follow up with a TR.
