Unread post by gfordyce » Tue Jul 08, 2008 9:22 pm

Hi Johan
Thank you for this thread.
I was busy pruning my creeper today and came across this beautiful butterfly. It was reluctant to leave the branches that had already been cut down. Please will you ID it for me if you can? It may start me on a new interest!

Thanks
Gill

HI Gill
The butterfly in your photo common name is the Garden Commodore and is one of the Nymphs (nymphalinae).
A very nice photo.
