Wild card was not accepted at mfolozi beginning of August, they said I needed proof of payment. I had ID and valid wild card.
Was staying at Cape Vidal, and popped in for a day visit to Mfolozi.
On arrival was told by Kzn wildlife staff that wild card system a mess and they cannot access Sanparks system to verify. I paid the R210 entry as I wanted to enjoy the day, not waste time getting angry.
Have emailed and phoned wild card division said they would refund.........when??????????
Why do we still have problems.

I have used this card at Tweerivieren, Nossob, Mata Mata, Balule, Biyamiti, Pretoriuskop, Berg n Dal,etc

Now I get told it was "not linked' yet have been told this many times at receptions, "but do not worry,now it is linked"???

Take proof of payment if you want to visit mfolozi !

I would like to see an official response on this :hmz: and a refund :rtm: for forestgump.

I will just add that the last time I went to Kruger, I was not asked for my wild card at the gate or reception :hmz: or proof of payment, maybe I just look like an honest person :D and yes I am, I always pay my additional taxes(wild card) to visit our national parks.
Isn't it just amazing how potatoes give us fries and vodka? :D The rest of the vegetables should get their act together :rtm:

So when is old enough to know better supposed to kick in ? :hmz:

I was in Kruger in June and was informed that our Wildcard was not linked but it would be done. We went to West Coast National Park on Saturday and there I had issues with the Wildcard being expired from last year. I was later informed that they have many issues with customers who update on the internet.
For the life of me I cannot fathom why it is so difficult to get this sorted out????

I find it best that when I have renewed my wild card I print out two copies One I keep in the cubbyhole of the car and the other in my wallet with the Wild card .. and then they cant argue

why have the card if you have to carry papers around to be able to prove its validity to the same company that issues it? These issues have been going for years and it is customers who are inconvenienced. It is an embarrassment that this is still not right. :wall: :wall:

I haven't had a wild card for 2 years or so, I just use the confirmation letter. Haven't had any problems, but i haven't tried to use it at a non-Sanparks place

Forestgump thanks for the warning. We're on our way to KZN parks and I would not have bothered with the paper since we have our plastic. I've now phoned KNP Central Reservation, requested proof and within seconds received the confirmation. Excellent service thank you KNP. In the past we've always used our paper confirmation at all the KZN parks and never had any problems. Must be the plastics.

Hi Lesego,
Thank you for the quick response however I do not think it is a personnel problem rather a system problem that in my mind should be relatively easy to solve (e.g Multi choice works on a similar system). Hopefully someone in programming can get this sorted.

I am not amused with the 'quick response' I am receiving from Sanparks. They should send me a new wild card for all my effort in trying to recover R210. This will cover my time and unreturned phone calls. Have sent copy of reiept etc. If KZN is the problem now ,let that be Sanparks problem. I bought the card from Sanparks, they administer it,they should refund me asap, should not have to beg. The wild card system being a mess led to this problem occuring.

Forestgump,

Sorry to hear about your inconvenience at Imfolozi caused by the Wild Card not reflecting your payment. We had no issues to visit Imfolozi and Ndumo in July and were not required to pay any extra for conservation fees.

The only Parks where Wild card was not accepted were Mkhuzi and Cape Vidal.

The first time I've received my new Wild card was in 2011 it expired the same week I've receive it and could not use it. After renewal over the internet a new number was issued with a message that my card will be posted. I immediately phoned Wild Card office and after a long argument got to the right person that connected the link to my first New Wild card in 2011. Since then I renewed over the internet in 2012 and had no problem during my KNP visits.

I am not sure if the problem lies in how you renew the card and that it does not work if you renew it at Parks but only works when paying through the internet system where you pay by credit card. :hmz:

Returned yesterday from KZN :( . Visited 3 parks. Had absolutely no problem with our plastic wild card at Ithala or Hluhluwe. Merely showed my card. It looks like Ezemvelo does not want to upset visitors with wild card issues until it’s been sorted. Mkhuze as previously reported do not accept wild cards :| and we felt sorry for the guy at the entrance gate. His life cannot be easy. We paid cash before entering, I doubt if he has any card facilities or even electricity.

B) Sanoarks apologised for delay,will pay today.
C) Sanparks have replied to last email sent last month.

I have contacted Wild Card again to hear what could have possible caused the delay. I am sorry you have had to wait this long but I will push to get an answer for you before the end of today. :(
