OK, let's get the focus back after that 'stretching' exercises!

Taken in December 2010 on the Auob!

There were four of them at the waterhole.

Great thread!
I think the following pix are from the same sighting you posted FMJ.

Hi,

These photos were taken at Mata Mata in early January 2012. There was a pride of 5 lions (3 came to drink and the other 2 stayed in the bush). They were later joined by a couple of Hyenas which resulted in a few fireworks.

Some great interesting stories in this thread.

This guy caused a little trouble a few visits ago:

In April of last year, we were at the Rooiputs waterhole, when we saw a male leopard stalking this ground squirrel. I was convinced I am about to see my first leopard kill! He was tense and very careful!

Image

However, by the time he came close to the squirrel, the squirrel just disappeared into his burrow and the leopard decided to sit and wait next to the hole for a good 20 minutes or so, before he gave it up!

Where did he go?

These two lionesses caught a Gemsbuck less than 20 meters outside TR on Sunday 17 March 2013. Right next to the camp fence.

Image

Image

They moved off a bit and then the Brownie saw a chance to get a bite for breakfast!!!

Arriving at Kamqua in December 2010 after we came over the top dune road from Nossob, we found six lions at the waterhole.

Surely we have not covered ALL the toilet lions, not to mention the ones at the picnic spots yet! Please find those 'special' photos from your 'archives' and post it here!

This is my signature photo taken in June 2008 at Samevloeiing waterhole near Twee Rivieren in broad daylight. We have visited the Kgalagadi 5 times before and were fortunate enough to see leopards four times.

According to the experts this is leopard Kruiper, one of Maja's second set of twins!
